Passover at Yale AEPi

Last night the Taus hosted a Passover Seder for the brotherhood and their pledge class, complete with good food, good drink, and good and welfare. The brotherhood would like to give special thanks to the leadership of Sir Grapefellow (Billy Crotty ’16), The Pledge Formerly Known As Mousecop (David Steiner ’16) and Hingle McCringleberry (Adam Beckman ’16) for this event.

Brother Rabbi James Ponet Initiated

Last night, Yale Law School faculty member Rabbi James Ponet was initiated to our chapter as an Honorary Brother. The event was attended by Andy Borans, the Executive Director of AEPi International.

Rabbi James Ponet is a Lecturer in Law at Yale Law School and the Howard M. Holtzmann Jewish Chaplain at Yale, where he has served as a religious leader since 1981. He is also the executive director of the Joseph Slifka Center for Jewish Life at Yale. He earned his B.A. degree from Yale in 1968 with a major in Religious Studies and his master’s and doctoral degrees from Hebrew Union College, where he was ordained in 1973. Rabbi Ponet lived in Israel from 1974 through 1981, studying Jewish thought at Hebrew University in Jerusalem and serving as a Fellow and teacher at both the Shalom Hartman Institute and the Pardes Institute. He currently teaches “The Book of Job and Injustice” at Yale Law School.

Sigma Pledge Class Hosts Shabbat Dinner at the House

This past Friday, the men of the Sigma Pledge Class prepared and led a Shabbat Dinner for the entire fraternity at 395 Crown Street. It was a great night for the brotherhood– photos coming soon.

Last Comic Standing this Thursday (10/18) — 8:30 pm, SSS 114

This Thursday, AEPi’s own Alex Goel ’14 will be MC-ing YCC’s Last Comic Standing, where AEPi’s Ben Boult ’14 will be performing for a chance to open at Fall Show. Come join the brothers as we cheer on Ben and enjoy a great show together.

Meor at Yale and AEPi Present: Stew and Brew, this Thursday (10/11) at the House

Join us for dinner and (glatt-kosher) beer at the AEPi House, starting at 6 pm. We’ll be talking about Judaism’s applications to so many facets of life – relationships, work, you name it.

Pizza in the Hut, this Wednesday (10/3) at 4 pm in Morse Courtyard

This Wednesday at 4 pm, come hang out with AEPi and MEOR in Morse Courtyard– we’ll be jamming out to music, playing lawn games, and enjoying pizza, salad, cakes, and other refreshments, all while enjoying the comfort of our newly built Sukkah. Feel free to come with friends.
